Sorry to bother you all again so quickly but is mouth pain normal one month on from surgery?
my husband reported some mouth pain near his gumline and when I looked it’s right on the sutre line. It’s tucked up under his top lip. The sutre line looks a bit pink, but I’m wondering if it’s food related and something has irritated. He says it does feel like inflammation. I’ve had him do a mouth clean and take two paracetamol. It’s probably nothing but as you will all appreciate, anything mouth related is making me immediately freak out.
can recurrence happen so fast?
Hi Doramouse. Get your consultant to have a look as your husband may have an infection. I had one after one of my ops and the side of my face blew up like a balloon and was very painful. A course of antibiotics fixed it. It is highly unlikely to be a recurrence.

Hi Lyn.
I'm glad you replied to Doramouse to put her mind at ease, so hopefully she'll get some sleep.
I was going to tell her not many members are around at this time and to hang on till morning when Dani, and others in the know, will be able to give her information. I can't supply much as my fella had a different operation.

Dani,
Fast asleep in the camper. We are away for a few days
Yes, Doramouse yes get it looked at for infection. I’m sure even the GP would do
You don’t get recurrence this early.
Hope he feels better soon.

We just got back from a round trip to the hospital. One of the surgical team had a look and then video called the main consultant who also looked via video link, and didn’t seem overly worried. We have a new prescription of mouth wash, and are back home. What a ride. Thank you all xx
Hi Lyn.
Yes, I knew you lived down under. I always read the profiles of posters I interact with; on reading yours I thought, Jesus wept! How does this woman do it?! You're inspirational!
Oh crikey! Just had a thought - I hope I haven't woken you up? Sorry.
