Tonsil Cancer: HPV16. Discharged 14 March
Hello all,
Well the good news is I have been discharged and now just have regular checks for 5 years.
Next Monday I am going back to work - part-time at first - I have been off since November last year. I am nervous. I should get back into it.
I am dealing with a dry mouth at night. The effect of this is that my voice is very croaky in the morning, but with plenty of lotions and potions it improves. A bicarbonate wash works best. Does anyone else croak in the morning.
My energy is sort of alright, but I get tired about 7 at night.
Now my checks are less frequent, the whole ordeal seems like a bad dream.
Stephen
That's such great news Stephen! It sounds like you've come through really well. Good luck with return to work - hopefully your employer will be understanding and in the evenings you can just crash if you need to. Sending love x Catriona

All sounds good, Stephen!
For dry mouth I use Xylimelts, you can buy them on amazon - just stick one to your gum before you go to sleep, they do help.

I finished my treatment last August and my voice is quite husky in the mornings. My other half sometimes calls me Mariella Frostrup LOL!!
I'm ready for bed by 8pm most nights. I certainly listen to my body more these days. I'm back at work full time now, following a phased return that started early November.
Helen x
