Radiotherapy side effects

Hi everyone,

so had 2 days of radiotherapy, I got through it with a sedative and support nurse.

I was told I probably won’t get side effects 1-2 weeks or more, but I’m already feeling tight and stiff in my neck, back of my throat where tonsil was removed is also feeling different.

it’s not pain just feeling uncomfortable and different also I’m feeling sickly in the mornings is this normal after 2 days or just me?

Hi I had ng tube but I also had a rucksack with the pump do we could control the speed of feed. I fed during day while travelling back to home from radiotherapy sone times I found at home standing up helped walking round garden etc. my tummy shrunk so I couldn’t handle high flow feeds. Maybe ask if that would help.i was at home so was able to control feeding is he having to fit in with hospital times. Maybe when he’s home will be easier. He will possibly need the n g tube for a good few weeks after treatment.

I was admitted to hospital at 33 of 35 radiotherapy. NG tube was fitted and was in for 4 weeks. for the first 3 weeks everything including medication went in the NG tube. Hospital never discussed going home with tube. (maybe because I live alone and was 75 at the time and could not have managed it on my own)
