I can’t keep anything down

Every thing that went down yesterday came back up with a vengeance last night . I am losing weight and know I can’t afford to. I still have 9 sessions to go and they are giving me anti sickness medication today but I’m worried that I might lose too much weight. I just want to cry all the time and I can’t be bothered with anything anymore.

  • Have you asked about a pump? If you’re not keen on that do at least use warm water.

  • Hero Lillian

I had this after chemoradiotherapy in November and ended up being admitted. Keep telling your team that you need stronger antisickness meds - I ended up on tiny dose of levomepromazine as well as ondansetron and metaclopramide. Also had 10-hour  overnight feeds by nasogastric (NG) tube.

It was really tough but the sickness wore off within a month after treatment ended, I was off the NG tube by mid-December and in complete remission now so hang in there - good luck & much love

  • Morning Hazel I wondered if you have any tips to help with my neck please, I have been given the dressing but it is still so sore at one point   I am bathing it every day but how long does it take?   As for other news I only have 4 more treatments to go counting today and thanks to everyone’s advice I got anti sickness and pain sorted fingers crossed.
I would give any thing for a good nights sleep, I can get plenty of rest but not sleep and I am so restless all day

Again I really appreciate everyone’s support and advice on my journey xxx

  • Hi Lilian. Ask your radiographers for Flamazine to use once treatment is finished. The good news is that once the RT stops your neck will heal quickly. Lots of people here had a short course of sleeping tablets to help them along. I didn’t need any but I did take melatonin to get me off to sleep and sometimes still do

  • Hi Lillian as you see if yiu read my blog my neck was horribly burnt but as soon as treatment finished within 3 weeks it had cleared. You can ask fir flamazine I didn’t use it I had my polymem bandages. As for slerp as Dani says a short course of sleeping tabkets may help. Look how far you’ve come 4 more to go. Then hunker down for a few weeks Springs round the corner   Here if yiu needs us. Hugs Hazel xx

  • Hi Lillian, has Dani said ask for Flamazine, for when your RT is finished. My neck was in a terrible state, Flamazine cleared it up very quickly. Hang in there, you are nearly finished.

    Ray.

  • I am thinning it out now with water and it is going down easier plus anti sickness injections are really helping. Only 2 more treatments to go so let’s get them done xxx.
Couldn’t have got this far without all of your help, you have all been amazing , thank you again xxx

  • Hi Hazel I have some Manuka honey and wasn’t sure if you were the one to say it is good for your neck. Do I just apply it with my fingers and does it sting?
     Lillian xxx

  • As a beekeeper I can attest that any artisan beekeepers honey is just as good anti inflammatory wise as Manuka. BUT any honey is really sticky and you will have a heck of a job washing it off

There are better things. How bad is your neck? The radiographers should be giving you something. Flamigel while you are having RT. Polymem bandages if your skin is broken and infected and Flamazine as soon as you’ve finished. Flamazine is miracle stuff. It will sort your neck in two weeks.
mid your skin is just red and irritated you could try aloe vera gel which is what I used.
BTW. Most Manuka honey in the U.K. is fake.
