I’ve done three rounds of chemo. Had mask fitted and was supposed to have chemo and radiotherapy yesterday. Kidneys not doing well so couldn’t have chemo but had 1st session of radiotherapy. Woke up in the night with my mouth dry and feeling nauseous. I thought side effects started later maybe week 2. Has anyone else experienced symptoms immediately. My tongue was stuck to roof of my mouth. Would appreciate advice. By the way with such anxiety with chemo I’ve been prescribed sedatives on the next two sessions coming up when kidneys are better
My mouth, tong are so sore, white patches everywhere, I had some mouthwash- did not work, I spoke with urgent line support, lovely people, I have daffimap and nystatin but relief is not good
please help,
thought I could have more time before it’s start ….
Hope you are well my friends, sorry to ask and ask ….
Hi. Keep asking. It’s what we’re here for. It seems a little early to be getting thrush but if it is that nystatin won’t work. You need Fluconazole
What analgesia are you on? By the time my mouth was full of ulcers I needed extended release morphine morning and night plus oramorph five times a day and paracetamol four times.
It doesn’t take away the pain entirely but takes the edge off and you have to take it by the clock.
I was also given Antacid with Oxetecaine which is local anaesthetic you swill round your mouth and swallow.
Tell your team you’re not coping with the pain so that they can tune your pain killers

Hi has Dani had said nystatin doesn’t work with radiotherapy induced oral thrush. You’ll need flucozonole. Plus you need to keep on top of pain relief by rote don’t wait for it to kick in. I had a spreadsheet ticked off what I had taken It’s a full time job keeping on top of pain.
Let us know what you are on.

Dani , I started my first cycle 12Ap, 5F , day 2 heartburn, day after sore throat and mouth, I trying to keep clean, I took out my dentures, yesterday was bad but this morning I can see white patches, can’t swallow easily . I have ibuprofen and paracetamol
think I have cocommodol in box …
You poor thing. Of course you’re on Fluorouracil. I’m sorry I forgot that. It’s the culprit. Cocodomol might help if it’s the 30mg. BUT DONT take paracetamol as well. Get onto your team. There’s no need to suffer.
