To update everyone my dad is unfortunately terminal now, we think he has a little over a year left but we'll formally find out in June 10th. It's been difficult to accept but we're doing our best with it, it's been a long and turbulent journey, the outcome isn't what we wanted but we can only make the most of what time is left.
Does anyone know of any medicine/pain relief that will just make him comfortable so he's not suffering? He's on oral morphine but he's still really struggling with the pain of everything, there's gotta be something that will knock the pain out, also if there's any medicine I can ask for that will help him sleep too that's much appreciated, I just need suggestions.
I can't believe it's been nearly two years now, time has gone very quickly but also very slowly at the same time. I'm getting married in October so he'll be able to walk me down the aisle, you gotta do your best with the cards you have been dealt. There's nothing more we can do now but try to make the most of what's left, I just want him to at least be pain free if its possible.
Oh Acornette I am so sorry
There are loads of us here who have followed you and your dad and I’m heartbroken.
You could enquire about Fentanyl patches. They are more potent than morphine and delivered through the skin.
Take care of yourself and I’m so pleased you are getting married and that your dad will be able to give you away.
Best wishes
Dani

Thankyou I appreciate all the advice and comfort you all have given me. It's not a great situation but slowly we are accepting it. All I can ask for now is that the remaining time we have is hopefully painfree.
Thankyou for suggesting the patches I'll make a note of them so we can ask the doctor when we go in.
Things are okay at the moment despite everything we're all remaining as positive as can be. He turns 50 in two days, so he'll see his half century birthday aswell as my wedding.
Hi Acornette
So sorry to hear your sad news we’ve been with you all the time. Please let us know how the 10 th of June goes. You can see if Macmillan or district nurse can help as well as time goes by. Try and enjoy every moment you get with Dad and make memory’s while you’ve got the chance. Will help wherever we can with advise.
Hugs to your family from mine.
