Hi all.
I finished my treatment 9weeks ago. About 4 weeks ago I had a follow up scan on my chest for a nodule they found when originally scanning. I went for the results 2 weeks ago Thankfully it was fine and I was told they will just keep an eye on it.
The dr said I would have a head scan and a follow up appointment in July. Which is about the 12week post treatment time. I got my oncologist appointment within a day or 2 gorgeous 22nd july but I havent had the appointment for the scan yet. Bearing in mind that i will see the oncologist in 5 weeks, shouldn't i have the scan at least 2 weeks before. Worrying in case they've forgot to book the scan. Do you think i should phone and check or wait another week.?
Thanks Tracy
Hi Tracy
PET results come through much faster than CT or MRI
They are usually available to the referring consultant in three days so I wouldn’t worry.
Good news about the nodule too.
If it’s an MRI although they are read and interpreted by a radiologist the images are sent on immediately and oncologists are perfectly able to read them.
