Hi everyone,
I’m Eliza from Macmillan’s Community team, I hope you don’t mind me posting here.
I’m just letting you know that we’ll be introducing a new feature to the “Head and neck cancer” group. This is based on members’ feedback, as we’ve heard that sometimes members don’t know where they should post.
We’re currently testing the idea of having categories for discussions in the “Breast cancer” group. We’ve seen good results, particularly from new members coming to the site for the first time and introducing themselves to find support. We’d like to test this feature in this group too.
We involved our Community Champions in the process, so we could do our best to make sure the new layout is fitting for your individual group. You will have the following categories to post in:
The group will look very similar to the Breast cancer group, where you will have these three categories at the top of the page. You will still be able to see all the latest discussions quickly and easily below the list of categories. You can then click on the category titles to view the discussion threads in each individual section.
Our members are at the heart of everything we do. These changes are part of our commitment to continue to improve the site as a place of comfort and support for people affected by cancer.
The new layout should be implemented in your group on Thursday 14th January. Please bear in mind that the Community team will need to move all the content into the right sections manually, so you might find some discussion threads in the ‘wrong’ place at first. We appreciate your patience while we move content into the different categories.
Please feel reassured that no discussion threads will be deleted or removed from the group through this process. We hope that instead it will be easier to find older threads, and to find relevant discussions to where you are in your experience.
We're here to help if you have any questions, and we will welcome feedback about the new layout. We will also measure how well the new layout is working in other ways. If you would like to provide feedback or ask questions, please email us at community@macmillan.org.uk. Emailing us is the best way to talk to us, as unfortunately we might not always see your comment if you post on the site. However, you can also comment below this post if you would prefer to give us feedback this way.
Thank you,
Eliza and the Community team
You can already get there

Hi Knitty
After a period of inactivity the forum logs you out. You could email Eliza at the above link to see if they can change it. I’m sure the issue was raised earlier and there wasn’t a solution but there may be now.
