  • Hi Keith Newbie here as well  I am a few days / weeks ahead of you

I am T4 N2 M0 and HPV+.That last one is important make sure you ask your Oncologist my understanding is HPV+ is very receptive to radiotherapy.

I Just had my first day of induction chemo. So far so good I'm sure there is worse to come and not up to read all the stories below just yet but it's good to see people have been through this and got better.

    Take care all.

  • Hello Keith

Just piping up to wish you well & offer my story. My oncologist said at the start that he had 3 pieces of advice for me: fluids, fluids and fluids! Very important to keep hydrated.

Stick with us on here - I found it so helpful and reassuring when I was terrified about diagnosis and going through treatment.

Sending you love, luck & solidarity

  • many ideas how long you are in scanner

A head MRI takes around  40 minutes if you are having contrast, but haven't you had one of those already?

Most scanners have a mirror so that you can see out.

Is it your shoulder this time?

Are you stage 4 or T4 like John who you were replying to because the two are definitely not the same.

  • The scan is a about 40 mins.  It is quite noisy and feels quite isolated usually there is a mirror to see the control room and audio to the control room. Ask for music to be put on. Good luck
