Hi all,

Had surgery yesterday ,and consultant decided not to take tonsil out as he found a lump at base of tongue ,which he thinks is primary ,so he took lots of biopsy and now being tested.

So another waiting game ,but Rachel (key worker) says it won't be too long as they are quick at turn around at the moment.

  • Fingers crossed. Mine was in the same place. The RT annihilated the cancer and my tonsils.

  • Hi my primary was in my tonsil but only had biopsy the chemo radiotherapy blasted the tonsil and my uvula . They won’t always need to take the tonsils out.

we have a set of tonsils at the base of the tongue so that’s why here yours will be more than likely.

  • Hi Mark

My primary was right tonsil spread to base of tongue and several lymph nodes but chemo and radiotherapy frazzled it …literally Joy. Remeber HPV related cancers have over 90% cure rate … I got the all clear in April.

Keeping my fingers crossed Fingers crossed that everything will start to happen really soon for you.

Many of us us feel once we start treatment the anxiety and fear of the unknown seem to lessen .
