Hi
I was diagnosed with nasal cancer and had an op in February 2022 to remove tumour and large part of nasal cavity and then 6 weeks radiotherapy ending mid May 2022.
All was successful and now just coping with the after effects.
One area that has changed is the need to sleep with a humidifer by my head otherwise i wake up continuously with a dry throat.
The humidifier at home works great BUT i want to go on holiday and i am trying to find a portable humidifier to take on holiday or to hotels when i am working away from home. Does anyone have any recommendations? I bought one off Amazon and it did not work at all which is making me reluctant to buy another one without a recommendation.
I am also swimming 3-5 times a week which is really helping clear all the debris that had built up in my nose from the op and radiotherapy and using the steam room regularly i can highly recommend this to help.
Anyway i am adjusting to the new norm which seems to involve lots of teeth brushing and nasal douching but i am on a list to have the block tear duct from the radiotherapy dealt with as they wont do the op until 9 months after radiotherapy so also having to deal with a continuously weepy eye.
All good fun and certainly taking one day at a time
Hi I’ve been using them since treatment finished. Sadly we have to buy them but they are worth it. I can mange now mist nights on half of one. But you can use one on each side of gum I stick mine in upper jaw. Hope they help. Plus I use bioxtra mouth wash get g p to prescribe it’s soft and gentle Good luck you might need to give them a few days to get used to them. The strepsil s won’t do your teeth any good do please try the xyimelts. Plus in day time sugar free chewing gum with xylitol in it.
