hel....I guess you are used to fighting.....RT to the throat is a challenge but you know the score I guess. Do what the medics tell you, take your pain killers and put your head down. I've sent you a friend request to point you to something that might be accessible to help.If you accept I can message you.

Good evening Asher23, sorry to be reading this post, I don't know what all these letters and numbers mean, it was on my letters when i was diagnosed but all I was interested in was can they cure it, etc. Like you, I had cancer 3 times in 3 years all linked to the head and neck, including 3 big operations and a course of radio and chemotherapy. All i can say is hang on in there as they did finally rid me of the cancer with the last operation where they removed my larynx. This was done in 2010 and was told "there is very little chance of it returning" so far so good. It sounds as if you have had a rough time of it all with your other issues/problems. Let's hope like me it's the third time lucky, wishing you all the best on this bumpy journey, stay strong, and take care.
Chris .
Hi Chris
It was good of you to take the time to write. Thank you
The numbers are a standard for staging the cancer. T0 is the smallest then T1 and so on. The second number is if it has spread. T1 is good.
The first 2 cancers I just took in my stride....being HIV from 1993/4 you kind of get used to problems.
This one however seems to have hit me a little hard. Just diagnosed with Emphysema and PAD along with a heart problem at the same time,, with a PIP review.
Anyway, others have it harder in here unfortunately.
I am more interested in info than crying here, but that could change.
Does anyone know what the waiting time is at The Royal Marsden at the moment with covid. I kind of want to get this started.
I seems a rare and not a good place ro get cancer the Posterior pharyngeal wall., I dont suppose anyone knows exactly where that is? Apart from my throat.
They were thinking of robotic surgery first, but it is a largish area. Anyone know what happens if they cut this out? They are now going for radiotherapy, wondering what would be the best of the bad options.....
Living with HIV for so long you learn to find out about and own your disease.
Thanks again Chris
Simon
Hi Simon
maybe you could ask your CNS what the likely wait is?
Another thing to ask your oncologist is whether photobiomodulation is available at The Marsden? This is cutting edge “laser” treatment that had had wonderful results in reducing mucositis drastically. I might think somebody like them might offer it?
The posterior pharyngeal wall is what you can see past your uvula ( the wiggly bit at the end of your soft palate) and past your tonsils. It’s the back of your throat. What you see is the top of it.
Your team are best placed to decide whether surgery alone is likely to be curative and whether they can leave radiotherapy in reserve if the cancer comes back.
I hope you get fixed soon.
Let us know how you get on

Hi again
They make the mould on Monday for the mask, CT planning on Tuesday, pull teeth on Thursday....Start cooking on the 24th. So considering they have to wait for computer time for planning on large computers, I think they are moving quickly.
If I reply here, does everyone see it that has posted before, do you know?
