Managed to get a hold of a Dr at his local practise for an chat over the phone.
She thinks its sounds like his anxiety/stress causing "silent reflux". By sound of it. And also upped his anxiety meds. Gave him gaviscon and a mouth spray. To see how he goes on. As I explained his neice is getting married in 4 weeks time. At a registry office. And she wants him there. And his social phobia not helping him big time on top. . So she suggested the above ideas.
And after the Wedding to come see her, to see how he is doing. And to look at his throat. I thoughts that was really good of her to do. Since he will not leave the house at the moment, due to how he is. Could not have asked for a nicer or more helpful, understanding Doctor than this lady.
I started a new thread, as thought, this might help someone else too. With maybe the same symptoms of the tickle in the back of the throat, the dry mouth and or dry throat too. The fear of chocking on top.when eating or drinking when it happens the uncontrollable tickle.

"silent reflux".
Reflux is really common after throat cancer. Im on lansoprazole and have been off and on since treatment end
Lots of folk are on PPIs of one kind or another. Fingers crossed it’s this
