My two weeks of Radiotherapy is done, I ended up in A&E wed evening they got sorted, just feeling really crappy now and washed out.
All that's left now is a ct scan on the 10th and a phone consultation with my oncologist on the 31st and to decide whether to close my business for good or not.
I'm looking forward to getting beck on my feet and thinking about maybe a short holiday, i'm also looking at going to a couple of small music festivals.
Hope your all doing well out there, chin up summers coming !!

Glad you got through it. A break away sounds just the right prescription.
I tipped into work straight after university and never found the time to get to festivals ever again but I have two mighty Isle of Wight ones from the late sixties under my belt

Hi Dani
Because of my last health problem and this I'm down to 6 stone and have lost a lot of strength.
I have always had trouble putting weight on, high metabolism, so it's going to take me a very long time to get back to what I was.
I repair bike gear for a living and pulling leather gear around and replacing a zip in full racing leathers etc is tough work. It was tough keeping it going through the covid lockdown and now this cancer has taken it's toll on it as well. I can't reopen and limit my work... my customers won't let me !!
I'm just wondering, as my cancer is not going to be cured, I should just close it and enjoy what life I have left, which I know could well be quite a while.
I've never got to the Isle Of White festivals, even though I'm from Lymington originally !
My son is trying to get me to go to Blood stock with him, his girlfriend and mates, he's been trying for the last 3yrs, but is really determined this coming year !

Well, Cat. I’d go for it. What’s the point in half heartedly trying to work when you can’t. Is there any way you can just potter at it with maybe making a “masterpiece” a culmination of your life’s work? As for the time you have left, none of us know. I hope you have a long long time.
I found putting on weight the devils job for 18 months.
Just stuff yourself with bad foods and get some statins from your GP?

Good evening Cat, thanks for your update, and well done in getting through the treatment as we all know how uncomfortable it can be at times. If you can give up your business then go for it ( as long as you don't get bored) and concentrate on enjoying life. That sounds like a great idea with the music festivals with your son , as Dani mentioned nobody knows how long we have left which is good otherwise we would be sitting there waiting instead of making the most of our lives with family, friends creating memories, wishing you all the best with your scan on the 10th, eat drink and be happy. Take care.
Chris
My advice would be that if you can afford to close down - or just have a few clients you want to serve so you can control your time - do so. For various reasons I gave up mine just as I got my diagnosis. One thing that cancer does give us is a sense that we need to get on a do the things we want to right now rather than procrastinating a putting them off, never to be done.
Hi Peter Maybe you have the right idea , I have been told there is two points of cancer left after my neck dissection so I suppose time might be of the essence for me I honestly dont know. There is nothing that I am jumping up and down about that I would love to do in life to be honest

You know I felt the same. Never had a bucket list. I suppose if I had young children it would be important to make memories.

Fortunately both my kids are young adults and are very grounded. I was reading the letter consultant sent to my doctor and it says if it reoccurs I will get palliative care which wasn't what the consultant said to me in the hospital. I was quite upset and my daughter came in and I showed her the letter. She was with me when the consultant said there could be one or two treatments to hold it off. She pointed out that they have to be factual about the letter etc. She did point out also that I have had a few heart attacks, previous cancer this operation and now cancer again and that I was quite lucky to be alive lol . When you look at it that way she has got a good point

But palliative care doesn’t mean end of life remember. More options to hold it back is still palliative. Hang on. He said there were options. Look at immunotherapy. Some people do well on that for years. BioNTech have announced vaccine trials in the U.K. There will be more in the pipeline.

The trouble with my work #beesuit is that there is hardly anyone around that repairs & alters leather motorcycle clothing, so i'm in demand, that's why i couldn't limit it #pfjths Plus i hate turning people away.
I also do Pyrography on leather, which again is a little different as people normally do it on wood. I draw and do a small amount of pen & ink as well, so i have plenty of things to keep myself occupied #chris2012
Foooood !!! i can't wait to be able to eat properly again & the first thing will be a cheese & mushroom burger !!
I haven't and won't be doing a bucket list, the only thing i would like to do is to visit Pompeii, but don't see the point of paying out for a pass port when i'm only going to use it for that, there's nowhere else i want go abroad. Plus i can imagine insurance for me would be lots !!. There's lot's of lovely places to visit in this country.
