Hi guys I'm 8 months post treatment for base of tongue and neck cancer. I'm feeling really well and starting to get back to normal eating. The main problem I have now is that my mouth never feels clean and I'm constantly worrying in case my breath is bad. I use Duraphat toothpaste and brush my teeth at least three times a day, more if I'm out and about or meeting people. I also use Calphosol mouthwash morning and night as well as floss heads and a tongue scraper.
My mouth is still very dry and I carry water everywhere I go. I often get a strange taste in my mouth which I can only describe as 'meaty'!! Even immediately after I've brushed my teeth my mouth never feels fresh.
Hoping you lovely people can give me some advice.

Hi. Chewing gum and mouthwash. Don’t over brush your teeth. Three times daily is enough. Remember dry mouth plays havoc with the enamel
Your mouth actually feels drier than it is I bet.
