No it helps with that awful sticky saliva you get with RT

Your ulcers are from the 5FU. Can you ask your chemo nurses if there is anything else that can help? I had Caphosol as well as the Gelclair. My lips got pretty dry and painful with RT so I used some organic beeswax lip salve which helped enormously, but you could use anything that doesn't have petroleum jelly in it. I found I was licking my lips a lot which doesn't help either so tried very hard on concentrating not to.

1. Why not vaseline that is what i have been putting on my lips and they are still very sore

Hi I was told nothing with petroleum jelly in it has it could cause burns. I used a Burt bees product which had only natural thjngs in it. 
the petroleum jelly is flammable.

The ulcers are awful. Everyone has said most of the things I took. Check with your cns first but I also swilled mouth with soluble aspirin, then spat out as already taking lots! Did help though
