Hi Everyone, My name is Dawn, I used to come on here years ago. When my partner got diagnosed with stage 2 throat cancer, and eventually got radiotheraphy treatment for it. And with all the ups and downs of the cancer diagnoses and treatment etc. You helps us loads. bless you. As you understood how we both felt etc.
The point is, iam back on now, is he has been suffering, from a really dry throat the last 2 months more so around the front of his throat I gather. And a feelings of wanting to clear his throat at times. And also at when eating sometimes feelings, he might choke. He is scared to go to hospital in general due to his phobia, and with covid about, making him much worse on top. To not go. As he is social phobic in general.
He is not in pain and can eat slowly with lots of gravy, on his food. He is worried sick his cancer has come back. Has any one got an idea what is going on?
Also his local GP has retired after 30 years, that he trusted and could talk to in November just gone. And to get him to go to his local surgery now is even harder.
I would really appricate anyone's advice or help regards above. As iam worried myself to say the least with thanks. Dawn.
Hi Linda, to be honest he didn't want me to phone just yet due to his fears of covid and his social phobia.. But says he feels bit better with the salt water gargling. I can't force him or push him to do nothing he doesn't want to do free will. Learn that a long time ago. As his own mother used to try to force her will onto him to do things he should like him to do, go doctor when I'll etc when younger never ended well. But I'm me. I go at his pace. Even though I might not like it. He is an adult and got his own mind. That it with anyone with phobias of any descriptions you can't force your will onto them. As your frustrated by them
Hi Chris, so glad to hear it was just 2 teeth playing you up and nothing else for you. Exactly anxiety, stress affects us all differently. Some people turn it around to motivate them to do better. And other like myself anxiety affects my nerves. None of us are perfect but we take each new day as comes best way I find.
Best wishes Dawn
Hi Dawn, there is a thing called Globus sensation, which does affect the throat, on one of my check up I told the consultant I had a feeling of something in my throat, which was worrying me, he said it was Globus sensation, he prescriped Gaviscon Advance. It worked wonders and I still take it now. It might be worth giving your GP a call, and ask what he thinks about it.
Regards Ray.
HI old biker, my partner wanted me to thank you, as he thinks it's silent reflux he is having. And feels bit better since finding out about it, and doing salt gargling daily. Hopefully when he feels a bit more confident to deal with ent due to his social phobia he will go.
He feels guilty as they are limiting how many folk are getting seen at ent due to covid. And don't want to take away from someone young as he in his 50s too.
With thanks for your great help and from everyone else too, of course.
Best wishes Dawn

Get straight back on to them Dawn. Be polite but firm. Do you still have the name of his consultant or the specialist nurse team. They should be able to help you. I get his fears and concerns, but keep encouraging him to talk to his GP. Contact them all, daily if necessary. Make it a situation where someone will talk to you even if if is because they are sick of hearing your name and want you to go away. Sadly in these times, it is the name and voice that won't go away that gets some attention sooner or later
