I thought I would update you all regarding my third prosthetic nose. It was fitted on Tuesday and is much better than the last two although not the same as my own nose it’s as near as they are going to get it. I also noticed that some of you have to use glue for your prosthetics I was lucky enough to have fittings for magnets placed during surgery so it’s easy for me to remove my nose when cleaning. In fact I very rarely wear it at home only when we have visitors or an online consultation. I have been told I need further surgery in order to fit my teeth as there is no room for them at the moment. Also the radiotherapy broke down the skin flap in my palate and I will have to have it replaced. This is complex surgery and they need to take bone and skin from my leg to put in my upper jaw. So not looking forward to it but it is necessary to allow me to talk and eat properly. Have had scans for this and will find out in June when it will go ahead. Meanwhile my mouth is so sore like a burning sensation anyone got any tips as how I can sooth it. Fortunately I have a peg tube fitted so get my nourishment from that but I am allowed to a bit but can’t because my mouth is too sore.
