Mouth ulcers

Hi Sam, great that you're through the treatment.

Do you have Gelclair and Caphosol. They helped me an awful lot though nothing took the pain away enough for me to ditch the NG tube for a few weeks yet......but then I'm a bit of a wimp.

I had the caphosol dispersible tablets and broke them in half and used half at a time as a mouthwash up to eight times a day. Gelclair is soothing and helps protect the healing skin. You can use that frequently as a mouthwash or apply the gel neat to any ulcer you can bear to touch.

My team also gave me Antacid Oxytecaine which is like gaviscon with a local anaesthetic. You gargle with that then swallow and it helps you trying to swallow.

Hi Sam Yes gelclair I had an ulcer full ,length of my tongue I used to mix it was a little water and swelling round my mouth. Like DAni says  we had the n g tube so our water mostly went in via that. Are you managing to take your pain medication ok Hydration and nutrition is vital these next few weeks , I also had the oxytecaine to help numb my mouth when n g tube was taken out.. if you are   taking paracetamol you can  get that In liquid form if tablets  are difficult.

hang in in there you’ll get there in the end m these next few weeks can be challenging.
