Hi Everyone
Did anyone experience hair loss at the nape of neck and if so did it eventually grow back? I have lost some at the back and I asked the Head and Neck team when it would grow back today and they said it depends - in some patients it never grows back and where it does it is usually only very fine.
Thanks
Sue
Hi Sue, yes I lost mine at the nape of my neck too, however it is growing back quite thick, it’s gone curly and it’s dark compared to the rest of my hair which is a silvery colour. I finished my treatment the middle of last August and it’s now about 2 to 3 inches long. I was told by my Oncologist that my hair would grow back.
Hope this might reassure you
Carol
Hi Sue. Mine grew back no problem. My hair is fine anyway and it took a little while.

Hello Sue. I lost mine too at the nape. I am just over a year post and regrowth is almost at my shoulder (nearish the same length as the rest of my hair. Mine has also grown back thicker and darker than my original hair colour (mousey/blonde). It's quite bizarre-like unintended highlights. My consultant told me my hair would grow back, so I am not sure if where my RT was directed has made a difference. Fingers crossed yours will too. Tricia
Hi sue mine grew back as thick as it was before after 33 month it’s now shoulder length. It started growing a few weeks after treatment had finished now you can’t tell.

Hi sue, I lost hair at the nape of my neck during my radiotherapy treatment which ended in October 2020. My hair is gradually growing back but very slowly I still have bald patches in the area. My daughter is a hairdresser and cut my hair so it covers my bald patches.
