Hi there, I've found myself here trying to find support and reassurance. My mum has oesophageal cancer diagnosed two years ago. Until a month ago she had no real symptoms however almost overnight she couldn't swallow food or liquid. They discovered although the tumour hasn't grown it has caused a hole in her oesophagus into her lungs. It has been devastating. She had a stent fitted and can eat and drink again however she has the most terrible coughing fits. The doctors can't seem to give us much advice other than tell us she'll be very prone to infection as bacteria can easily get to her lungs.
Does anyone have any experience of this situation ? I feel so panicky and anxious all the time I don't know where to
turn.

Hello Tiger123
I am sorry that you did not receive further replies after Syed posted to you, it does seem like you Mum's experience is quite different to anything that has been posted on the forum before, which is why there is a lack of response.
Have there been any improvements?
