Confused.
Hi Morton
I'm really sorry to hear of your diagnosis and the fact you are being told it's terminal - wish I could do something to help?
I'm between 4 -5 Years post op (Ivor Lewis) but am intrigued by your comment and relationship to the Asthma steriod ?
My wife is convinced there's a link - and as a kid me and my brothers actually trialled the blue ventolin salbutamol inhaler before it came on the market - which steriod have you been using?
Best Wishes
Peter
Hi Peter,
In response to your post regarding a link between Asthma & my terminal cancer I have been told by a consultant and a number of surgeons that the cause of my problems are continuous use of Prednisilone (high dose of 20mg per day) for a number of years to enable me to live a 'normal' working life, apparently the 'overuse' of these steroids has caused the lining of my esophagus to be stripped and Barretts esophagus to grow quite repidly. Additionally the reason for the terminal prognosis is due to the now weakness of my internal systems due again to the long term effects of Prednisolone - pity no-one could have explained this in detail previously eh?...
Hi Morton
I am sorry that you have been given a terminal diagnosis, my husband was also diagnosed terminal, 20 months ago, given between 4 to 12 months prognosis, but is currently undergoing treatment which is working extremely well for him.
What is your current treatment plan and if I can ask, what was your original diagnosis.
