Hi everyone, I am new here, I was diagnosed with stage 2/3 (they're unsure) oesophageal cancer (Ardino carcinoma) located at the junction of the oesophagus and the stomach.
I have just started chemotherapy. I am unable to eat or drink, so have a NG feeding tube. My only desire at present is to have a drink, I'm finding myself sipping various fluids and spitting them down the sink, just to have taste in my mouth.
I'm hoping to be drinking within 2 sessions of chemotherapy and finally get this tube removed.
Has anyone gone through the same?
When could you take on fluids?
Thank you,
Christophe
My dad noticed a difference after his 2nd FLOT session with regards to eating, I hope you have the same experience and notice an improvement. Wishing you all the very best.
Hi. Hope your doing well. I've just completed the pre-op flot chemo. I noticed a difference after the 2nd session, for me it was more the mucus that seemed to clear allowing me to swallow better and not bring food back up. It coincided with me taking a higher dose of omeprazole so Im unsure if it's chemo/omeprazole or combination of both. My CT scan is on Wednesday so hopefully I'll find out it's shrinkage soon . Hoping that your chemo is going well and you are starting to see a difference/managing to drink and get your tube removed
