Good news today, my husband finished 4 cycles of FLOT 2 weeks ago, he had a CT scan last week which showed that the tumour as shrunk also the lymph nodes.

his operation is scheduled for December 29th.

Hes been told to build his strength up now, the chemotherapy was tough. for him especially the last cycle

  • Hi Erika,

Yes, the FLOT chemo is very tough to get through. My 4th pre-op cycle completely knocked me for six and I only had 4 weeks between it and my surgery. I can certainly second the advice about building your husband’s strength and fitness up as much as possible in the weeks ahead as this will stand him in good stead for his recovery after surgery. Very best of luck for the 29th. That’s going to be a very long day for you as the surgery can take 10hrs or more! My wife still describes it as the longest day of her life!! CB

  • Hi,

I'm sure things will go well. I've had my surgery after 4 flots and now on my second round of chemotherapy.

Just focus on staying strong. Fitness is key to a successful surgery.

Chemotherapy affects us all differently. I've had bouts of fatigue, nausea with vomiting but I have to tell myself it is worth it as it will remove potential risk in future.

It's a long and bumpy road and we're all on our own path.

Good luck to your husband and yourself.

    You've got this. Thumbsup
