8 Years Post Op from Ivor Lewis

Hi All,

It's a while since I've been on the site but just wanted to share an update given today is my 8 year anniversary of my Ivor Lewis operation at the Royal Surrey Hospital. Having been diagnosed back in April 2017 (T3N2M0) I feel super fortunate to be here. I know I am extremely fortunate to have made it so far and also wanted to take a moment to thank many of the members on this site who helped me on this journey.

My daughter helped me build a simple 'A-Z blog' to capture and help anyone who may be unfortunate to embark on a similar journey

Hi Silverfox65,

Thanks for sharing your journey. I think it is important, especially for those just starting out on their treatment, that they get to read about success stories like hours. As we all know, keeping a positive attitude is so important to help get us through the tough times on this journey. I am now 18 months post Ivor Lewis and, like yourself, feel very lucky to have been given this second chance. God knows it hasn’t been an easy journey to get this far but life is good and I am trying to make the most of every day of it. Best wishes CB

Hi CB,

Many thanks for your reply. I'm so pleased to hear you are recovering well. Like you say , it really is one day at time. Some days are harsh and tough but I never imagined I'd get this far - positive mental attitude where possible pays huge dividends.

Hi iam also a survivor of Ivor Lewis surgery 13 yrs this December yippee,and it feels like yesterday because you have to fight all the way I would love to give something back..
