Hi, what insurance for travel have people used for themselves? Or joint ?

Thanks in advance, Jennie SparklesSunflower

  • Our local Maggie's Centre provided us with a long list of possible insurance companies. In the event, we used 'All Clear' - see www.allcleartravel.co.uk - and I would recommend them: they were efficient and helpful.

This was for travel for a long holiday overseas, when my wife had a terminal diagnosis. It was the last holiday we ever had.

    Best wishes.

  • Thank you

Sorry for your loss. Thank you for responding and beautiful memories made on your holiday.

    Best wishes Jennie

  • Hi Jennie,

I used AllClear as well for a joint annual policy for world travel with cruise cover added on. Not cheap (about £1000) but I was prepared for that.

    Best Wishes,

    CB.

  • Hello CB

Count down under way for you Sunglasses, have a fabulous time and will raise a glass Champagne glass to our 1st years anniversary.
Thanks for the information, I will give them a call, it is a lot but the sensible thing to do, was that just for you? Or as a couple ?

    Best wishes Jennie SparklesSunflower

  • Hi Jen, I have used Co-op travel insurance world wide (excluding a few which countries I don’t plan on going too this year) for £360 for my upcoming travels which is for the year. With the only pre existing condition being the treatment and operation for Oesophageal cancer.

Hope everyone is doing well, total shame about this miserable weather!

    All the best, Rich x

  • Oh my goodness, just had this experience and they vary HUGELY! All Clear were the worst, I got a quote of over £900 after declaring myself and my partner's heart stent (10 years ago). We are going to New York in June and was beginning to despair. However, I eventually got an excellent policy with Saga lol... finally a benefit of being nearly 60 Joy It was £265, and that was declaring me with a year clear, and my partner's 10 year old stent. I was happy with that. Most were coming out at over £600 for us...

  • Hi

I did not realize there is a forum on here for Travel Insurance, very helpful, I have managed to find one depending on the level I take out, between £270-£750. This is with insurancewith.

    Allclear wanted £7840 JoyJoyJoyJoyJoy

I have a CT on the 14/3 so I am going to have that completed before finalizing the insurance, sad the rip of world we have.

    Thanks all for your support

    Happy hols

  • Insurancewith  was recommended to me last year so used them for single trip to Europe. Have just this morning called again for a quote for Amsterdam 3 days and Greece 2 weeks and was quoted £90.39 and £163.79. Annual was £510.29.Those were for their Emerald option, Sapphire was more. https://www.insurancewith.com/

  • I felt their questions were more relevant and comprehensive then others I tried.

  • Me too. All the others seem to ask exactly the same set questions. I was very impressed with them.
