Hello all, Rod has developed painful ears since his last infusion. The nurse was fascinated at the synchronicity of the slight swelling, on the top tips of both ears. He likened himself to Dr. Spock. This side effect has coincided with his very sore and raw mouth and inner nostrils. The nurse prescribed antibiotics for his ears and a sore finger tip. However, the oncologist told him yesterday that there's no infection as these are all caused by the chemo, so the antibiotics are a waste of time.
Just wondering if anyone else on FOLFOX has had similar side effects?
TIA,
Lorraine
PS latest CT scan shows 50% reduction in size of tumours! This is after 4 cycles
Hi Lorraine not sure if it’s the same thing, but it’s strange you should say that, although I was not on FOLFOX I was on ECF and used to get a feeling like something was crawling under the skin of my ears it would come and go and affect both ears but never both together.
I think it was called “formication“ and can be a sign of a reaction to the chemo.
