Hi All,

My husband just finished his chemoradiotherapy for stage 4 esophageal cancer and have decided to take 2 weeks  in France before his scan to see how its worked. I do remember reading somewhere in this forum that someone had found a decent insurance company that will insure you without having to pay the earth but I cant find it. Could anyone advise of an insurance company that will cover is for a holiday abroad?

Many Thanks

  • Hi Sopranos,

From the research I did, the companies you are most likely to get insurance with are ‘AllClear’ and ‘InsureWith’. Might not be cheap though. I paid £1000 for a worldwide annual policy with AllClear which also includes cruise cover (always an additional cost) as we have booked a cruise from Chile in February plus a couple of other trips. Good luck. CB

  • thank you I will try them xx

  • Could you let us know how you get on with the insurance. My wife is stage 4 and coming to the end of her chemo treatment in Sept.We are hoping to travel abroad on holiday if we can get ins.

  • I went with AllClear - was not cheap but I added on lots of bells and whistles. they seemed to be very on the ball.

  • I am very happy with the deal I got from insurancewith.com. £135 single trip to Greece whereas some others quoted me £1,400!

  • This is a long shot, however if you have private healthcare, it often comes with travel insurance included.

AXA/PPP for example, provides especially good cover with very few restrictions and doesn't discriminate against those with cancer.

    As I say, long shot....
