Hi I am 34 year old female, I have acid reflux every morning and goes through the day, I also have. Slump in the throat feeling not an actual lump.
I have extreme anxiety especially after my sister was diagnosed with a brain tumour 3 weeks ago.
Do my symptoms sound like cancer.
I would be so grateful for any responses.
Hi Beclau
Acid reflux isn't usually a sign of esophageal cancer. However it is a condition that isn't very pleasant and if it occurs very often without being treated it can lead to problems many years later.
I would suggest going to the doctor's to get a professional opinion in the first instance and they will prescribe whatever is necessary to relieve your symptoms.

Hi Beclau,
You definitely need to go to the doctor to get this checked out ASAP. Acid reflux and a lump in the throat feeling are both possible markers for a couple of oesophageal issues. I had both of these conditions and, following an endoscopy, was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer in October. Fortunately I went to my GP as soon as I started encountering swallowing difficulties and have had treatment to remove it. It is possible that you may have another condition called Barrett’s Oesophagus but definitely get yourself checked out. Good luck. CB
Beclau,
It is only right that you get checked out, but that you are also made aware that the feeling you have in your throat can be caused by Anxiety, this is something that I have had for many years now... if you can find a good GP who can treat the anxiety, that should help.
Good Luck with getting checked out.

Our bodies react in the strangest of ways whilst our minds allow us to believe that there is so much more, to something simple.
as already mentioned. don't delay in getting checked out, but be mindful, our own minds can make our bodies ill.
Look after you, be there where you can for your sister and remember she has a medical team who will take on much of the worry for her if you let them...
