Thick black Mucus

Wondering if anyone has any issues with thick black mucus, my partner is 2 years post surgery but chokes up mucus every night various times, can be if he eats or if he doesn't no real reason we can gather this has always happened. (even with 8 stretches)

Recently the Mucus is extremely thick and black and I'm worried about it, I cant get him to ring doctor as he says he's always done it but its usually yellow.

I'm worried this is blood?

Any advice would be great

I spat thick blackish bike. That may be what is happening to your husband?

It tastes awful and is very sticky. It's better now 8onths after the surgery.

I had to learn what I could eat, and how much. Also, how elevated my back had to be.

Now and then it may happen, but it is very rare now.

HI, thank you for the reply. He is 2 years from surgery and its only started everyday its usually yellow so its the change that worries me, but that sounds the same, he des sleep upright and dosnt eat before bed so its all a bit strange
