I had 4 rounds of flot and I suppose generally I came out of it better than I thought it would.  I found  it got a little worse than previous after about 4 days after each session.   At worst my symptoms were diarrhoea, sore throat and irritability.  My hair has thinned but not gone bald and only needed to shave once a week.  I'm  sure hubby will be alright if he just keeps reminding himself symptoms are only a sign of chemotherapy going about it's work.

Thanks for yes he is better than we thought but only round 1

  • Hi how’s your hubby doing? Mine started his treatment on Wednesday this week. So far he is only tired as you said about yours. Early days we know but after the build up to the treatment we’ll take iHugging He has to attend the hospital every week day, chemotherapy day is Wednesday plus radiotherapy, and the other four days are radiotherapy on its own so he has a bit of a way to go. We are taking it oHugging day at a time and not thinking about it too much (except in the early hours of the morning of course when it comes along to keep you awake!) He says treatment is not too bad at the moment, hoping iHuggingstays that way! I’m going to make a chart of his treatment and cross the days off as we go so we can see how far he’s come xx fingers crossed all well with you Huggingxxx

Yes it's awful but I am struggling are you X

  • Hi we’re not sure yet. We had a meeting with his oncologist early last week and they want to try upping his dosage of radiotherapy to see if this will get rid of the tumour. He’s already had one major surgery a couple of years ago and I think they want to try whatever they can first before putting him through another one. I’m handling it better than I thought I would to be honest but I wonder if his previous surgery has prepared me a little bit? He had a heart attack and had to have triple heart bypass surgery. Don’t get me wrong I have my moments usually in the early hours but I do find this forum very helpful and our motto is one day at a time xxx
