My dad (72) has been diagnosed and he seems so unwell.
He is going to have some radiotherapy from 15th sept and then start chemo a few weeks later.
He has had to have blood transfusions as he is severely anemic and its hurting me to see him this way.
Is there anyone else who has a close family member with same who I could chat to?
I am so grateful to be able to connect via this group.
Hi Vixrjiz, I didn't want to leave you without a reply so I'm sending big hugs your way. Hopefully someone with experience of a situation similar to yours will be in touch soon.
My husband started pre-operative chemo a few days ago and he's feeling pretty rough at the moment - it's hard to see those we love suffering, especially when you're facing the unknown.
Have you been given contact details for any of the specialist nurses at the hospital that is treating your dad? You should be able to ask them for advice on how to make him more comfortable.
I hope things improve soon, Tiny Dancer xxx
Hi, thanks yes he starts tomorrow. He seems ok, says he is not nervous or anything. I think he is masking how he feels for my mum's benefit as she is so scared.
I don't know how I am. I struggle between acceptance and denial right now.
Thank you for your message x
My husband always maintains that he was not nervous, he was prepared to receive that which would make him better.
Let's hope that it is the same for your Dad.
Don't ignore your own emotions, acceptance and denial are understandable...it's how we make it through the day.

Hi, yes he started yesterday and he is exhausted today.
I have realised something today, I am in denial about what is actually happening and that it cannot be cured.
Sorry your dad has been diagnosed too, it's such a horrible thing. Take care x
Me too :( I have gone from floods of tears, to anger and now am in total denial - he just has to get better. And you, the very best wishes to your Dad and family xx
