Hi all. Not been on for a while because I was unsure where I was. I’ve been back at work since June last year after Ivor Lewis in December 2019. Been ok, but since November last year I keep getting diahrea. I’ve had several  blood tests and a few stool samples sent in also a ct scan and all came back ok. My Fantastic Macmillan nurse looked at everything and said as far as my cancer is concerned I’m in the clear. Wow. I can only say to anyone who is going through the same thing, it’s bloody hard work but well worth it.

    Hi Mick,

have you tried Buscopan, available without a prescription. Just ignore the IBS written on the box, it stops you having the runs very quickly. A word of warning though, if yo take too many you become constipated. So just start with a small amount.

And it's so wonderful to hear when a person becomes free of cancer. It gives others hope. I'm delighted for you.

    Best regards,

    Graeme.

  • Hi Mick

My diarrhoea sorted itself out after a year or so after I started taking probiotics as a precaution for foreign travel. It may or not be the reason my guts got sorted, but I haven’t stopped taking them (since seven years now). They are Acidophilus from Holland and Barrett. After two years I was living normally again. As you say hard work but worth it.

Counting the days, making every day count.

    Brent

  • I knew I’d spelt diarrhoea wrong. Thanks for the tip I’ll give them a try.

  • Thanks Graeme I’ll put it on the shopping list.
