Hi, I have had radiotherapy and chemotherapy combination for my cancer and was waiting for Surgury to remove it but my operation was postponed due to covid19 then I was told my operation could now go ahead and I needed another pet scan. The result of the scan showed that 2lymph nodes show cancer cells so they would not operate. I am now told that I will need another type of chemotherapy has anyone else had this similar situation as feeling very unsure as to if it will stop it.

Hi Nana Jean sorry to hear of your woes, just to clarify what was the overall staging of the tumour? I was T3 N2 M0 staging, which if I remember correctly the N2 meant that it was detected in local lymph nodes. I didn't have chemotherapy and radiotherapy, I just had surgery, I think they removed 9 lymph nodes and 5 were positive. I was told this at my first follow up appointment 6 months after surgery, I didn't really focus on any figures, I just wanted to focus on getting fitter and healthier. That's over 3 and a half years ago and I'm doing fine. I meant to ask where are the lymph nodes that were detected? Try not to let it worry you, staying positive really does help. Good luck and kind regards Frank.

Hi frank thank you for replying, Mine is T3 N1/N2. It is now in grion and next to original tumour they are going to give me more chemo they won't operate on original tumor as it will make me too weak for chemo.

Hopefully after the extra chemotherapy they will be able to do the surgery. Keep being positive and you will get through this. Kind regards Frank.
