Having picked up an infection from my picc line resulting in a course of strong antibiotics i finally started my 3rd and final cycle of post op ECX on monday. I was expecting to attend my usual chemo unit but was informed on the friday before that the unit was being moved along with the team to another designated hospital . this was done as my hospital had been designated as a covid hub. The whole move was done over a weekend including staff and nurses and equipment. all went well on the monday, staff in place and all with smiles on their faces, no problems with equipment, IT, or meds....god bless them all.
What a lovely, positive post. The NHS are amazing and the work they are doing beyond Covid is sometimes going unnoticed. I’m so pleased everything went well with your chemo in the new location and I hope more cancer hubs can be set up soon so treatment and operations can continue. I wish you well with the rest of your recovery.
