Hi everyone I haven't been on for awhile but have a few questions hoping someone can help, I am in my third week of chemo/radio combination and only have two weeks left then the operation so can anyone tell me how long after treatment will it be before I have my op? I keep expecting to lose my hair but I still have it will it come out or am I one of the lucky ones but my head is itchy all the time is this a sign its going to happen. I am trying to stay positive but its really hard some days had a really awful Christmas not being able to eat or drink I really hate this feed tube now feeling very low as you can probably tell. I hope someone can maybe answer some of my questions. Thanks for listening.

    Hello Lindianns

Sorry you’ve had a rubbish Christmas and I’m afraid I haven’t got the answer on how long you have to wait for surgery as I was offered either radical chemo/radiotherapy or surgery for my cancer and I chose the former. Hope you’ve not reacted too badly to the chemo/radio, I had a really bad reaction (sickness and stomach pain) on the first round but after a change of delivery to IV chemo 24 hrs over 5 days as in patient for the next 3 rounds the sickness got under control. It’s hard to stay positive some days but be assured lots of people have come through this and are behind you. All the best for the rest of your treatment.

Thank you for taking the time to listen I am on my third week of chemo/radio all been good up to now, but this week all the side effects have kicked in mood swings, tiredness well I sleep for england. Everything sets me off  crying but I am staying positive knowing it's part of the course, it's a great comfort to know people understand . I am hoping it won't be too long before I have the operation but hey it will take as long as it takes the operation is scary but reading what other people have said helps me to understand what I am in for. I pray after the operation I will be free. I can't wait to be able to eat and drink again I've been three months now so really am looking forward to that. I really wish you well with your recovery and pray your checkup goes well. Kind regards Linda x
