Hi everyone I joined the group last week after being diagnosed with oesophagus cancer I have just got all my appointments for 5weeks of radiotherapy and chemotherapy combined then surgery feeling a bit nervous but at least things seem to be moving now. I have been reading in the Macmillan books that I can get payments for 13 weeks via my NI contributions does anyone know how I go about this as I am still of working age and at present only getting ssp .
Hi try phoning the MacMillan helpline or going to your local MacMillan. Failing that try your local advice centre. Have a look at entitled to.com for advice, I think you might be able to get employment support allowance (ESA). You may even be able to get the pip benefit although I'm not an expert. Good luck and kind regards Frank.
Frank , Thank you for your advice I will call in at the local drop in centre and ask. Your reply very much appreciated. Linda
