Just found out that my husband s esophageal cancer has returned after having a Esophagectomy in 2011. It has returned to the previous site and metasized to the brain.
He has been having CT scans for the last year and was told it was Asthma.
A couple of weeks ago his speech was very slurred i called an ambulance and he was taken into a different hospital where they found 3 tumours on the brain and 1 on the original site.
I feel sick with worry but trying to be brave for him.
The most upsetting bit is why the previous 3 CT scans did not pick this up.
I dont know what the future holds. Just wanted to share with you.
Wow Lola, that’s dreadful news. I can’t imagine what you both must be feeling.
I know you must feel cheated that the ct scans didn’t see it but don’t let your anger at this consume you and change things between yourself and your husband, you don’t know at this stage that the outcome would have been any different.
Pull together and tackle this situation as best you can with the help and support of those around you.
Counting the days, making every day count.
Brent
Hello Brent
Thankyou for your kind words. Just found out that the cancer is stage 4. They have not graded it yet.
He is having an Endoscopy next week, we should find out then.
I have asked for a meeting with his consultant to discuss things. I am trying to put on a brave face and keep strong. Luckily i have a lot of good friends around me.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
