Stephen had stent fitted Tuesday.  He is disappointed as no real improvement with eating. Still only eating small amounts of clear soup and ice cream anything else is difficult to get down. I keep saying give it time as this is what they said at hospital. Can anyone tell.me if it does get easier once it has had time to settle. He is now only 9 stone originally 14 stone and is very weak. This is really our last hope as we have no other options. Very distressing watching him fading away and not being able to do anything.

  • Lol ,  mine is actually extremely hairy  everywhere apart from his head, even between his fingers , its his birthday next week so family are all  coming , a couple each day befor tues xx He has 3 daughters from his 1st marriage so 2 each day with kids is fine xx 2 don't speak and even this hasn't brought them together but it's something we're not even going to worry about , there in there 40,s now so they wouldn't listen to us anyway lol. • My dad had a stent. It helped him eat for a few weeks longer. He said, however, he himself wished he had not had it on reflection. I suppose everyone is different and must try what they want to try on the advice they are given at the time. Dad would have probably only have lasted a few days without his stent because he couldn’t eat or drink at all when he had it. He said he felt ‘frightened’ into having it done. He had 7 or so more weeks with us. But I don’t know if it was for the best. They weren’t his best weeks. Sorry for anyone going through this, on an incurable diagnosis - and to their families. • Sending love to you all x

  • How are you both today xxxx

  • Morning, been a rough weekend with the new chemo side effects Pensive but saw a young girl on Country File last night who had similar symptoms bless her, the two girls were such an inspiration. How’s you both doing? X

  • Start tomorrow but had bloods done 17th Oct which dr originally said would be ok but we've been asked to redo on Friday gone which he has but now panicking somethings wrong with being asked to have them .

In his cancer journal book it says full bloods done couple of days befor so I'm hoping it's just they were too old from the 17th Oct xx hard

  • More than likely too old. It’s usually 2 days before and would work out right as it’s Tuesday. Good luck for tomorrow, will be thinking of you. We have a dedicated helpline (am assuming it’s the same everywhere) they are there 24/7 please ring them at anytime as they are most helpful and kind. Let us know how you get on x

  • I will love, thankyou ,, we're just a bit anxious I think

  • Totally understandable, unfortunately we can all emphasise xx
