Hi My husband has been diagnosed with oesophageal cancer which has grown quite quickly up to 11cm in a matter of weeks. Surgery is not an option as it is too close to the windpipe. Hoping to shrink it with Fluorouracil and Oxaliplatin. On a feeding tube and he only manages sips of water.
Trying to stay positive but it is very difficult as the tests seem to be going on for weeks and chemo still 2 or 3 weeks away.
Hello Snowsie
Welcome to the Online Community.
I am sorry to hear that your husband has had a diagnosis of oesophageal cancer and understand that it is a difficult time for you both.
I remember with my own cancer, the diagnosis and testing seem to take for ever and I remember just wanting to get on with the treatments.
I hope that he does not have to wait too much longer to start his chemo and that is works in shrinking the cancer.
In the meantime why not give the Support Line a call and talk things through. They are lovely on there and available from 8am-8pm every day.
Jane
