Well I hav3 just started Flot although not having T at present. I have a jejustomy in situ as my ability to eat is so poor.  I am feeling very sick most of the time, the Odanesteron does help but first thing in the morning I suffer.

I had no idea what to expect but I've only had one cycle and I feel very ropey so don't know how I'm going g to manage another 3. I had a bad fall which knocked me for 6 just after finish day 2 of Flot. I'm struggling

  • Sorry to hear that you are struggling with your chemo. If you’re not coping with the strength that you are on, you can discuss with your oncologist about having it reduced. I did this with my post-op FLOT. Dropped it from 100% to 75% strength.

  • Hi this chemo is not fun that’s for sure !! But you will probably find that after your second cycle you may be able to eat and use your jej tube less and less ! I had my second cycle just before Christmas and was so pleased that on Christmas Day I managed some soup and two spoonfuls of trifle by the time I finished my chemo I was not using the feeding tube at all !! • Thanks for taking the time to reply.

  • That would be good, I'm no fan of the jejeustomy! Guess I was a tad naive re chemotherapy

  • Well it affects everyone differently! I was very lucky as apart from blisters on my tongue horrible taste in my mouth and the neuropathy in my hands feet and legs oh and hair loss it wasn’t too bad lol xx

  • As everyone has said it affects people differently I was unfortunately affected by a lot of side effects. Hair loss, diarrhoea, Loss of taste, neuropathy, sore mouth etc Linda

  • Sorry to hear. I thought I'd got away with minor problems but the last few days have floored me.

  • Hang on in there it will be worth it!!  Take it one day at a time ! Is the plan to have surgery?

  • How are you doing Linda? Are you out of hospital?

  • FLOT affects everyone differently. My husband had a bad time. Make sure you rest and don’t try and push yourself.  Be proactive with meds ….. dont wait til things get bad, take them early. Check your temp at least twice daily and call the cancer helpline if it goes up. Call them if you are worried about anything. We had gloves on the fridge door and Chris was banned from the freezer because of neuropathy. Ondansetron was good for nausea. Hope the worst passes quickly.
