I completed 5 weeks of chemo and radiotherapy which once the pain and swelling subsided I felt went well as I could eat a normal diet. I am unsuitable for surgery.
I have been suffering from a chest infection for the past month, which I assumed was down to lower immunity following treatment. I am currently on my 4th course of antibiotics.
My follow up scan is tomorrow and I was optimistic following the good result with treatment. However my GP did blood tests yesterday which has raised concerns now about my liver so he has ordered another scan for my liver in case they fail to detail the liver in my scan tomorrow.
I had assumed my scan tomorrow would check not just my original cancer but also check if it had spread. Now I am not sure. Can anyone advise what the follow-up scan entails.
Any advice greatly appreciated and sending love to all on this horrible journey
Sharon
Before my surgery I had problems with my feeding tube and had a CT scan to see what the problem was (it had become misplaced) when I asked about my tumour they said they only looked at one area requested and not at the tumour ! So this might be why ??
