Firstly thank you to all on here who have been so supportive and helpful through the diagnosis and pre op chemotherapy journey. The support and advice has been so helpful and I have learned so much from the experiences of others.
Chris had his op on 16 April, surgery went well and was completed more quickly than I expected. A bit of a blip with heart rate meant he stayed in ICU for a few days but was discharged and came home on Thursday. He seems amazingly well …… no problems moving around, climbing stairs or bending etc. Eating softish food without problems ( no feeding tube) …. no problems with dairy or sugar so far. Tired obviously and needing regular rests. The only blip … bit of a urine infection and a badly leaking drain needed redressing yesterday.
Is this too good to be true? I shouldn’t think that way but there are always bumps in the road it seems
Thank you all again. Geraldine xx
Follow up with surgeon in a couple of weeks where we will get updated staging etc. I guess a couple of months break before any chemo. Chris had a very bad time with cycle 4 and was hospitalised so I know it will certainly be reduced strength. He wants to try but I will be surprised if he can cope with more than 1 or 2. Most people can’t manage it all. Look after yourself in this quiet period …..ou may well feel better than you have done for a while so have some treats
