Hello

I have my last FLOT tomorrow, 4 in all, I have also have 2 rounds of Carbo and Etoposide. I have my CT scan on the 1st Feb as they plan is to operate so I have fingers and toes crossed they I will still be on this pathway.

The Flot has been tough as people say, the Oxy-legs were terrible!! the two week turn around has given me about 3 days of normality. I would like to thank those that offered side effect advice as it really helped me to be proactive with the Meds.

The change for me is  from Oct to early December I was not able to eat food, shakes only. I am now eating normally, I have attempted spicy food, like a curry Heart eyes. I find I need to eat more often or I get like an empty discomfort, not sure what that's about?  My sternum feels sore sometimes also? fingers crossed these are gastral related to the growth but I guess it must of shrunk as I can eat.Grinning

I am so looking forward to some weeks without Chemo but also apprehensive, it will be back to that waiting place, and this is it, which pathway? I wish I had not been told IT was high grade, this bit really sticks in my head!!Fingers crossed

What lovely blue skies I have in the south at the moment, beautiful Sunny

Yes I was the same, didn’t like taking any meds, so a huge learning curve and acceptance. Yes the blowey tube, it is good and I tried to still use it, 3mths after Op. I was at 3000 before Op, at 2500 now.
Oh what a rubbish view, hope you return home soon Alasdair.

How are you doing? Love this, the boney bum club haha Rofl so please share, 40 minute (fantastic) what are you doing? Resistance? Shall I google glute workout?
Have you tried any upper body training? I am finding just daily jobs, hovering, window cleaning, weeding leaves my R rib cage tight and I know it is there? If that makes sense. I still have some numbness also. The team don’t seem concerned, I hate reacting to any any sensation, hopefully this will fade in time.
It must feel great that you have one more to go, I will wait with my decision till after my 2nd one on the 10th.

    Best wishes

  • Hi Jennie

I haven’t added any resistance to my workout yet but I do have some resistance bands for when I’m feeling up to it. No upper body yet but I may introduce this gradually. Just a little bit cautious with my PICC line still in. I still get some tightness in my chest but no pain which is good. I’m off painkillers altogether now. My skin is drum numb on the right side of my chest but I suppose this’ll take a while to sort itself out. My main problem continues to be total lack of appetite and queasy feeling in stomach which I know is partly due to chemo. I’m hoping that once I’m finished with it then I’ll be able to start putting some weight back on. I’ve lost about 1.5st since before surgery and could definitely do with getting some of it back again. Hope you’re enjoying your break. CB

  • Good morning all

How are we on this beautiful Sunny Sunday morning doesn’t it feel good to be alive

It would feel great if I was allowed to go home but the seems to be another problem with my recovery and that is this large lump growing on my right side just above the site where one of my chest drains was, so I’m now waiting for a doctor to come and examine it, it’s now the size of half a tennis ball and very tender to touch. Any one else suffered with anything like this

I look forward to your thoughts

    Many thanks and best wishes

  • Good morning Alistair.

The sun is shining beautiful here too x sorry to hear you have a  further complication , I hope the Doctor can give you the answer very soon then you can be on your way home to recover comfortably.

Looking forward to hearing that you're home.

  • Hi Jennie

Don't think we can post pics of boney bums on here Joy. To be in the club you need to sit on a park bench, if it's uncomfortable after less than 5 mins you are in!

Yes it's a lovely day today for sure, a bit of light gardening and a walk today.

Hope your next chemo round goes ok

    Best wishes

  • Hi Alistair

You are not having much luck are you. Hope the doctor gets to the bottom of it soon so that you can get home. I didn't have anything like that, it might just be an infection on where the drain was put in.

Hang in here my friend you will get there

    Best wishes

  • Morning CB

Hope you are feeling ok and it's great to hear you are managing some exercise. Just be careful of Picc line though but you are working on the boney bum so you should be ok Joy

Spoke to my cousin yesterday, he lives in Sligo is that anywhere near you?

His sheep is about to have lambs so he's not getting much sleep.

    Enjoy this sunny day

    Best wishes
