Hello
I have my last FLOT tomorrow, 4 in all, I have also have 2 rounds of Carbo and Etoposide. I have my CT scan on the 1st Feb as they plan is to operate so I have fingers and toes crossed they I will still be on this pathway.
The Flot has been tough as people say, the Oxy-legs were terrible!! the two week turn around has given me about 3 days of normality. I would like to thank those that offered side effect advice as it really helped me to be proactive with the Meds.
The change for me is from Oct to early December I was not able to eat food, shakes only. I am now eating normally, I have attempted spicy food, like a curry . I find I need to eat more often or I get like an empty discomfort, not sure what that's about? My sternum feels sore sometimes also? fingers crossed these are gastral related to the growth but I guess it must of shrunk as I can eat.
I am so looking forward to some weeks without Chemo but also apprehensive, it will be back to that waiting place, and this is it, which pathway? I wish I had not been told IT was high grade, this bit really sticks in my head!!
What lovely blue skies I have in the south at the moment, beautiful
Hi Jennie,
Glad to hear that your hair has started to grow back. I’ve just recently noticed that I’m having to shave more often again. Not so sure about the hair on my head just yet but I think I’m going to end up a bit greyer than I was before…

Hi Cool Blue
How are you doing my friend? I didn't have much hair to start with but it's hardly growing and going white/grey. If that doesn't change it's time for the bic razor!!!
Round 3 of chemo next week just hoping it goes better this time as the first two haven't been great.
Best wishes
Dean
Hi Jennie
Started post op chemo in March so two months after op. Only two to go but that will depend on how next round goes.
B12 injection done on Thursday and it stung a bit but yes chemo still in system so haven't noticed much change but it will take a few days to kick in.
So pleased your hair is coming back and like you say the colour not really an issue.
Hope your recovery continues to go well will let you know how it goes
Best wishes

Hello Dean
Thanks for your feed back, I have my oncology appointment this Thursday so will find out what he has in mind, I am 5 was post Op. not sure I want to start at 8 was. I am doing ok but still sore/tight on the right side but that will keep improving of course.
How long was it before you drove again, if you drive that is.
Hope you’ve had a nice weekend and good luck with round three Dean
Best wishes Jennie
Hello Jennie
I started driving 6 weeks post op. At last starting to feel better after the last chemo, only three weeks on. Still have a cough. Managed roast lunch, children’s size, at the Old Customs House in Gunwharf today. Celebrating end of treatment.

Hi Jennie
Yes I do drive and it was about 7 weeks after op. Sounds daft but was a bit apprehensive but it was fine. I have a van for my gardening business and it needed to be driven again.
Yes round 3 Weds/Thurs so will see how it goes. See my oncologist April 18th to discuss round 4 as it's been very rough so far
Take it steady if you are still a bit sore. I was told it's a marathon not a sprint.
Take care of yourself
Best wishes

Hi Paul
Well done on getting to the end of your treatment and managing a small roast too. I'm getting close with 2 rounds left post op. It's been a bit rough but pushing through it. By the end of April it will be over then a scan in May which I hope will say it's gone.
Stay well and take care
Best wishes

Hi Dean,
I guess I’m doing ok. Still a bit sore and tight down my right side but it seems to have healed well (although the hospital sent me home with two staples still in me). Really struggling to find anything I feel like eating. If it wasn’t for the JEJ tube, there’s definitely no way I’d be getting enough calories in. Also still very tired. Some days I feel that I could just stay in bed all day and doze. I try to get myself out for a couple of short walks each day but the rest of the day seems to drag quite a bit. No concentration to even read a book. You’re doing very well still ploughing through your post-op chemo. I can’t even think about it yet! I’m already exhausted enough without adding chemo fatigue into the equation! Have my meeting with consultant on Tuesday. I’d like to hear the pathology report one more time just to make sure I didn’t get it wrong when he phoned me in hospital. I just want to start feeling better and I do get a bit down sometimes that this seems to be taking such a long time to happen. I want to be able to do stuff again rather than just sitting/lying around the place like an old man. Sorry for the whinge. I do still know that I’ve been lucky to have been given the opportunity to have the treatment that I’ve had. Best wishes, CB

Hi Cool Blue
You have been through a major op with some complications so not surprised you feel sore and a bit down sometimes especially with the eating and tiredness. I think we should all realise that our ops were big ops and our bodies will take a long time to recover . I'm the same I just want to do things without feeling so tired. I'm doing round 3 next week and depending on how it goes after I may not do round 4 as my body feels as if it has had enough.
Always here for you my friend, hope you feel better soon
Best wishes
