Hi,I posted earlier this year towards the beginning of my cancer journey and got some really helpful advice(thank you Geoferret). I thought it was about time to update what's happened.
Well,I've had a Jej fitted to help with weight gain, currently stable at 50kgs. I went through FLOT at Christie's Manchester which went well along with lots of scans, bloods ,consults etc. Then it was time for surgery at Salford.
The operation was started but abandoned due to where the tumour is behind my stomach, all the scans didn't pick up that it is involving the coeliac junction so it is too high risk to remove.
This now means I am terminal and on palliative chemotherapy. My oncologist Professor Mansoor at the Christie is magnificent and I cannot praise him enough. Luckily I have life insurance although I'm still working when I can and my boss is fantastic.
I've had to have a stent fitted, think the lump was moved in the non-op lol,but I'm still managing to eat.
I think what I'm trying to say is that life isn't over,I've got plans to go see my sister in Australia next year and I've got more people to irritate yet
Hi UnicornD so sorry they couldn’t carry the op out for you. It’s great to hear your positivity, staying positive is always a good thing. That’s wonderful you are planning the trip to Australia, I am sure you will have a great time with your sister. I hope all goes well for you in the future and don’t give up the fight. Take care.
