My husband had his 4th chemo on Friday and PICC line removed yesterday when the pump was disconnected. He’s generally not been too bad with side effects apart from nausea and tiredness mainly from days 3/4 for a few days. He’s had minor nosebleeds, been sick a few times and had to make himself eat as he doesn’t feel hungry and since the 3rd session has had the metallic taste thing going on. However all of it has been manageable. He’s got a scan booked in a week and we’re hoping the chemo has done enough to make surgery possible. We’ve had a bit of a mix of views with the surgeon saying they think it’s operable provided the tumour isn’t wrapped round his aorta or growing into the diaphragm and the oncologist saying it’s a ‘bulky’ tumour and she’s not so sure! Husband noticed an improvement in eating after the first chemo but there hasn’t been any change since then. Keeping everything crossed for good scan results.
hoping for a better year!
Sounds very similar to myself. Although I had terrible breathing problems from 1st session to 3rd - wasn't able to get up and walk more than a dozen steps without having to rest for the one week following the session. And they won't remove my picc line so I've had that for just over a week since pump was removed.
A week after last session the metallic taste is fading somewhere although I seem to have grown a larger tongue!
Good luck, I hope the scan shows positive results!
