Could someone help me understand what this mean on my dads hospital forms. It’s from 13th and he’s since been told it’s inoperable

03/07/22 OGD: Lower esophagus tumour, probably squamous carcinoma, resulting in
light stricture beginning at 41cm from incisors with luminal narrowing. Scope
unable to pass.
03/07/22 esophageal biopsies H22F22598A: moderate to poorly differentiated.
intestinal type ADENOCARCINOMA. HER2-NEGATIVE.
05/07/22 CT Thorax abdomen pelvis with contrast: Bulky junctional tumour into
stomach.
If histological diagnosis confirms esophageal malignancy staging would be T3 N1
MO.
UGI MDT 06/07/22: GP referral for direct access endoscopy for weight loss and
dysphagia. Performance score: 1.
OGD shows lower esophagus tumour, resulting in tight stricture beginning at
41 cm

    • Hi, Gez, you could try asking one of the Macmillan nurses, they may be able to explain the terminology.
  • Hi there!

I would contact the a clinical nurse specialist if you have their number or find out the consultant who ordered the tests secretary's numbrr to ask the consultant to contact you to explain the diagnosis.

If you don't have a contact number then speak to your GP who should be able to provide you with a telephone number of someone who could help you to better understand the information.

    Kind regards
