Went for my central line insertion today 2.3.2021 after 2 failed attempts and 5 hours later it’s finally in the right place.
There is an upside. a) I never gave my upcoming chemo a thought
b) the consultant anaesthetist was the double of Chris Martin from Coldplay (my guilty pleasure)
So “ hey Chris, take your time” Every cloud, + I came up with my Mantra today whilst draped in my Glastonbury tent.
I WILL GET THROUGH THIS WITH LIPSTICK AND HIGH HEELS
Reminds me of when I had my first PICC line inserted. Failed twice in my right arm and eventually had it installed in my left arm (I'm left handed). The treatment room looked like something out of a horror movie! Blood everywhere! It amused me, horrified my wife and concerned the nurse. But nearly 3 years on and still in remission!
I Love your Mantra Dee and I hope all of the little unexpected twists provide such unexpected pleasures as "Chris" did.
I will be following your journey if you don't mind
All the best of luck to you
