My gorgeous mum and Tommy tumour finally lost their battle early this morning! I will be forever grateful for this group for the kind words and support I've received. To all those battling and supporting their loved ones with this awful disease keep fighting and stay strong, you are amazing, no one deserves this journey. For those who have been where I am now, focus on the memories, they will see you through. Sending love and best wishes to everyone of you. Love and hugs.

  • Hey Helen,

Thank you for letting us know - and thank you for sharing the photos.  I know these last few weeks have been agony for you.  Can I please just say to you what the counsellor said to me... Really try to pace yourself in the next few weeks.  It is quite likely that your body will try to claw back some of the sleep and emotional energy you have spent over the last months.

I hope that you can find some peace in the fact that your mum is no longer struggling.  I tend to think of it as finishing a race, rather than losing a battle.

Try to look after yourself and keep leaning on family and friends.  Take any help that is offered - you deserve it right now.

    Big hug...

    Pete

  • Thankyou for sharing with us, I think of you and check back often for updates.

As Pete has said, please try to look after yourself the coming weeks, this journey is the toughest ride and you need some rest too.

    Sending you love x

  • Hi Helen. So sorry for your loss but at least your mum is at peace.

As the others have already said please be gentle with yourself over the coming weeks. I suspect that this is journey that it will take us all a long time to heal from when the time comes. Healing takes as long as it takes.

Should you still need some support we are all still here for you. You're  not alone. In time there is another group that you might want to explore but only if and when you feel ready Bereaved family and friends forum - Macmillan Online Community.

For now though I'm sending you a huge virtual hug and lots of healing love and light.

    Wee Me xx

  • Oh Helen, I am so sorry.

All my love to you and your family. Your mum has such kind eyes, I’m so sorry she was dealt these cards. At least she can finally rest, and you can start to heal.
